Comfortable?

This is how we found Alstan sleeping. I'm not sure how he managed this or how comfortable it was, but he was out.

Tractor Show

We came to the farm yesterday to visit grandma & grandpa. It just happened to be the right weekend to go to the Calumetville Tractor Show.

Spelling Test

Alstan had his first spelling test today. He practiced each night this week and did great on his test! 

Elsie's Homework

Elsie just finished her first homework assignment for 4-K. She had to make a pennant about herself.

Alstan's First Game!

Here Alstan is trying out his new soccer ball. The next two photos were from his first soccer game. He was quite nervous before hand, but he was able to relax once he got into playing.

This shot was taken right before Alstan made his first goal. He was all smiles after that.

Elsie Gets to Ride the Bus!

Because 4-K is half days, Elsie gets to ride the bus to school. She was almost as excited about that as she was about her first day of school.

Elsie's 1st Day of Pre-K

Elsie had her first day of Pre-K4 today's! She has been waiting all summer for this day! 

1st Day of 1st Grade!

Alstan, mom and dad are heading back to school today. Alstan is a big first grader this year! While he is still a bit nervous, after meeting his teacher, he is looking forward to a great year.

Final Day of Summer

We decided to take the canoe out on our final day of summer break. We were able to canoe out to rather hidden rock for a picnic and some hiking. After lunch we canoe around some more to check out the wildlife. We were able to see lots of turtles, ducks and a blue heron. It turned out to be a great family day before heading back to school!

Learning to Knit

Elsie begged mom to teach her to knit. It was a bit rough going, so mom made some knitting looms out of popsicle sticks. Alstan got into it as well. Well, for that day they got into, and haven't touched it since.

Alstan's First Days of Soccer

Alstan was very excited to go to his first soccer camp. However, we rushed off to his practice only to find out it had been canceled. To Alstan's disappointment the next day was canceled due to tornadoes and severe storms in the area.

Alstan finally made it to practice on the third and fourth day. He loved it and is looking forward to the regular season starting!

Elsie's Final Day of Ballet

I know this post is pretty late, but this was Elsie's final day of ballet. She finished up the class excited about taking it again next summer. She is also very insistent that she should also take hip-hop classes next year. I do have some video that I will add if I get a chance.

Sewing Projects

Mom had to get out the sewing machine this past week, so Alstan and Elsie figured they needed to make something too. They made blankets for their toys. Alstan made his for Long Necky and Elsie made hers for her baby sister.
