Trip to the Zoo

Aunt Nette came to visit this past weekend, so we took a trip to the Madison zoo. It was a beautiful day for it.

Day at the Park

This nice weather must have gotten to dad: he packed up a picnic for the family. We ate dinner at the park and enjoyed the fresh air.

Sand Box

Alstan and Elsie found their way to the sand box early last week. Although there is not much space for both of them, they were having a great time.

Alstan's Birthday Weekend

For Alstan's third birthday he ended up having a three day celebration.  On Thursday we opened a present from the family and had cupcakes.  Then on Friday we went to a bouncy house before going to Grandpa and Grandma Zielicke's farm.  Finally, on Saturday he had his big birthday bash.

He was priceless on Saturday.  First, for before he blew out his candles he made his first birthday wish - "I wish to stay with Mommy and Daddy."  Then when he was opening presents he would ask who brought the next gift and then go give them hugs after he opened it.  He definitely has his mom's kind heart!

Elsie's Walking!

For Alstan's birthday we went to a bouncy house outside of Madison.  It gave Elsie a soft floor if she fell, which she didn't in this video.  She still would prefer to grab a hand if someone will give it to her, but she can walk on her own too.

Tea Time

Elsie got a tea set for her birthday. Alstan enjoys it just as much as Elsie, if not more. Here they are playing tea time together.

Happy Birthday Alstan

Alstan turned three today! We did a simple celebration here today, but we have a birthday weekend full of fun planned for him.

Helping on the Farm

Alstan talks a lot about how he wants to be grandpa's helper and asking if grandpa will show him how to feed the cows. Here Alstan had his first opportunity to help grandpa feed a baby calf. He was so excited about it. It was the first thing he told dad when he talked to him on the phone.

Sledding with the Cousins

While we were visiting Grandma and Grandpa Zielicke a couple weekends ago, Alstan had a chance to go sledding at Uncle Stan's. Mom didn't pack him any snow clothes, so she had to quick go buy some. The only ones she could find were these pink cheetah print ones. Alstan didn't mind and now we have a pair for Elsie next winter.

New Haircut

On the 13th Elsie had her one year check up. She was in the 39th percentile for length at about 29" and the 12th percentile for weight at about 18lb. 11oz.
