Recently Aunt Amie came to visit. She brought a gift for Elsie, which Alstan is so kindly helping Elsie with. She also brought Alstan a birthday present, which we didn't get any pictures of.
Alstan loves to show affection to his sister. He gives her kisses, hugs and tickles her cheeks. He also loves to express: "She's so cute", "she's so tiny" and/or "she's so happy" pretty much every time he sees her.
She's got her little barrettes in her hair so everyone knows she's a little girl. We're not quite sure what her eye color will be yet, but you can try to decide for yourself. They are still kind of gray now and it's hard to tell if they are going to be brown or hazel or maybe even a shade of blue.
Alstan had his second birthday party last weekend. Mom made the hats with the help of Alstan's aunties. Only those who wore hats were in the group picture. Some got out of it!
It has been a tough week in the Van Overmeer house. First everyone but Jessie got colds. Alstan has been getting his nose wiped every 15 minutes. Poor Elsie also got a cold and has been very raspy. As if colds weren't bad enough, the whole house got a dose of the flu. Hopefully we made it through the week though.
Here is Alstan curled up on the couch with Grandma and Grandpa. He likes to cuddle up next to somebody to drink his milk and watch a little TV before bed.
