Making a Mess

Alstan eating dinner and making an especially big mess.

Brrr

Alstan and Grandma Zielicke made a run to the mailbox. The weather is getting cold and I'm sure there will be lots more pictures of him with his winter hats soon.

Third Tooth

Tonight we noticed Alstan's third tooth coming in on his top gum. Jessie had been joking that he was sticking his tongue out like his dad a lot. It turns out he was just using it as a chew toy. You might have to enlarge the images to see the little thing. One of the pictures you can see him kind of chewing on his tongue too. He's been doing that all night long.

Also, don't miss the first six months video. It's kind of long (10 minutes), but shows how quickly the little guy is growing up. It's on the sidebar and down the page three or four posts (Grandma Van is going to have to go to Barnes and Noble for this one!)
Dad and Alstan decided to take an early afternoon nap as mom got ready. I wonder how many times they will be tempted to do this in the coming years.

Fall Pictures

For those of you who don't know, Jessie loves fall and Autumn leaves. We bought Alstan a vest for the family pictures we took this week, but we didn't use it. We finally had a little bit of sun today and were able to get pictures by the Odana Hills golf course in Madison.

Father and Son

Today when we were at Madison we bought Alstan a blue baseball cap so he could be like Dad. He loves hitting my cap, trying to take it off, and chewing on it. He did a really good job of keeping his hat on too.

The First Six Months

I've got a higher quality version I can share with people when I see them, but I had to reduce the quality in order to post it on the web. I've got it saved on my flash drive though so I can share it that way (by the way, video editing on my new computer is AWESOME!)

Little Pumpkin

Alstan is up to three meals a day! In these pictures you can see the progression from clean to messy. Some days are worse than this. Aunt Amie sent along the bib too, which says "Little Pumpkin" on it. That's the nickname Alstan (and all babies) has from his mom.

Thanks Aunt Amie!

These are pictures of Alstan in his Halloween outfit that his Aunt Amie sent him. His mom especially liked the colorful socks.

"Coloring"

Here is Alstan learning to "color". The whole time he's in his high chair "coloring" his mom is in the background saying, "No Sweetie, not in your mouth". For the record, it was my idea to get him crayons too. At some point I'm sure I'll have another post with crayon shavings on his teeth!

Standing!

The next milestone in Alstan's life! Here is a picture of him holding himself up. Up until know we've always helped him while he stood (or bounced). He fell over pretty good once with me when he tried to incorporate bouncing into his stand.

Upside Down

I know I haven't posted many pictures lately, so here is an overload! 5 updates and 19 pictures. Jessie was sitting over my shoulder saying, "oh that one is cute" and "oh that one is cute" and "oh... She finally had to leave so I could get some pictures up. This will probably be the last post this week. I'm going to get a new computer at some point this week and it'll take a little while to get it set up. Also, we will be going to Fond du Lac for Uncle Fred's birthday, so enjoy these.

If I had a faster computer I would have made a little movie with these pictures and used the Jack Johnson song Upside Down. I'll be able to make more clips like that once I get a new machine!

Leaving his Marks

Alstan now has his first set of crayons. This is his first set of markings (bang dots). Mom had to fight hard to get him these crayons. Thanks mom!!

At The Farm

The weekend at the Zielicke farm. Alstan can always find someone to hold him there. Here Grandma and Grandpa Zielicke along with Darien hold him. As you can see, Alstan was wearing his Michigan outfit especially made by Grandma Zielicke. Unfortunately, his good luck wore off and Michigan lost.
