Zach’s Wedding

This weekend we drove out to attend Zach and Angelica’s wedding. It was the first time since the start of the pandemic that we were able to visit with some family from dad’s side.

5th Grade Musical

Elsie had her musical performance tonight. She said she felt relieved after it was over, but that she enjoyed doing it. She did a great job!

First Pit Fire of the Year!

Ice Cream Treat

Alstan is gone for the evening on his band trip to Great America. Elsie thought an ice cream treat was in order to enrich the “Elsie Night” with mom and dad.

Alstan said he really enjoyed his trip, in spite of some rain patches during the day.

MS Spring Concert

The middle school band put on a another great performance last night. Alstan was pleased that his Aunt Nette could make it. They follow this up with a field trip to Great America next week.

Happy Easter

Easter Weekend

We spent Easter weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Zielicke’s. Elsie and mom volunteered to make the dinner rolls for Easter Dinner. The dough may have gotten a little out of control during the rising process.

After finishing dinner rolls, we went to the local fun farm to enjoy all the baby animals with Aunt Carrie and her girls!

Spring Visit from Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Van stopped in Mineral Point to visit on their way home. Since they stayed at the Quality Inn, Alstan and Elsie were able to spend a couple of hours swimming in the pool.

Dentist Alstan?

Elsie has had a loose tooth for a number of weeks now. The rest of the family is tired of seeing that wiggly thing, so Alstan helped us all out. Using a piece of dental floss, he plucked it out. Surprisingly she let him.

Babysitting!

As part of our visit to the farm, Alstan and Elsie volunteered to watch their cousins for a day. Elsie planned a day full of  baking, playing, picnicking and a visit to the park. 

Spring Break Visit

Dad had a different spring break than the rest of the family, so he didn’t join mom and the kids on their visit to the farm. It was a relatively nice day out, so ice cream at Kelley’s Creamery seemed like the perfect treat between chess games with grandpa. 

Alstan’s B-day Party

Alstan had a Jurassic World Evolution 2 themed party this year. He chose to have just the Drury boys over, and, of course, Aunt Nette.

It is hard to believe that he will be thirteen in a few days.

Elsie’s 11th Birthday

Elsie made and decorated her own cake this year.

One of the games that she planned for her party was an ice cream milk shake challenge. Each friend made a shake while the others tried to guess which items they added. Dad pranked them by making a shake with pickles, cashew and bacon bits.
