We left our house at 6:00 this morning to start our RV trip!

Last Day of School

The kids decided that the best way to finish off the year was to switch their shirts. Their choice!

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend ended up being a very hot one, but we had a great time playing in the water and having bonfires in the evening.

Reading Night

The kid’s really enjoyed the “Survivor” themed reading night this year.

Visitors

Grandma and Grandpa Van stayed over for a couple nights on their way to Michigan.



Grandma and Grandpa Zielicke had car trouble while coming to Alstan’s program, so Alstan and Elsie made a fort in Mom and dad’s room to sleep! They didn’t end up needing to use it, but they chose to anyway.

Grandparents Day Program

Third grade had a big day today! They had their car parade with their kindergarten buddies right after lunch. Alstan and his buddy made an airplane.


Later they had their Grandparents Day program. Alstan was lucky to have both of his sets of grandparents attend! Thanks!

Gymnastics Meet

Elsie performed at her first gymnastics meet today. It was set up as a way to teach kids what the meets are like and build self confidence, so it was not a competition. Elsie really enjoyed herself and was very excited about her medals!

Slime Making

Yes, slime making is the craze at school right now. So we had to do our own at home.

Baking Again

Our little baker was at it again this weekend. This time she made a banana cake and decorated it with a flag and fireworks to celebrate Memorial Day coming up. On Tuesday she was home sick, so to help pass the time she chose to watch baking challenges. After watching one, she said she wanted to be on a baking show. Mom mentioned that they don’t use printed recipes, so of course she wouldn’t use a recipe. It turned out tasting pretty good though. She used pancake mix as her base and added other ingredients to it.

Earth Day Program

Elsie’s class put on a program for their parents celebrating Earth Day. She has been talking about it all week. Her excitement about it was a bit less obvious during the performance though; she only smiled once. She was all smiles about it again after the program!

Snow Day

While it is a bit frustrating to have a snow storm in the middle of April, we are enjoying our early release from school just snuggling together!

Paint Day!

On Saturday Elsie wanted to have a painting day with Mom while the boys looked at cars. However, after Alstan saw that Aunt Nette was going to be a part of it, he decided to join in too. What a fun afternoon!
