Last weekend we spent at the farm for Alstan's first "camping" experience. He helped his dad cook a hot dog over the fire and made an attempt at sleeping in a tent. (A little too much excitement to actually go to sleep though) On Sunday we made homemade ice cream the old fashion way.
Now that we are finally getting some warmer weather, Alstan and dad had a chance to hang the birdhouse they got from Grandpa Van Overmeer. Alstan had been talking about it almost every time we were on the porch, so it was definitely time to hang it.
Recently Mom, Elsie and Alstan went to the Children's Museum in Madison with Aunt Sandy and her two foster children, Antionette and Wyverna. Alstan had a blast! Although we didn't get pictures of it, there was a train that went around the staircase; which is where Alstan spent a good chunk of time.
This is a great video of Elsie talking and laughing with her mom. She talks and smiles a lot these days and is especially happy in the morning. She must get that from her mom because her dad doesn't have happy mornings.
We were trying to get Elsie to lift her head. It turns out that Alstan doing the "Hot Dog Dance" with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show did the trick better than mom trying to talk to her.
Here are a couple of more recent drawings of Alstan's. You can see that he is working on controlling his pen/pencil more to make tiny marks. He is also beginning to name his drawings. The more sparse one was a race car. It almost looks like he was trying to imitate the shape of the race track with a large circular shape. (Just guessing)
Mom, Alstan and Elsie were all taking a nap together, but when mom got up, her two little pumpkins just moved closer to each other and went back to sleep.
Within the first twenty minutes of being at grandma and grandpa's, Alstan has talked grandma into letting him play with grandpa's "baby tractors" and Elsie is enjoying cuddle time with grandma.
Here are some pictures of Alstan on Easter. He wasn't sure what he was suppose to look for at first. Once he found his basket though, he thought it was great.
