There is never a shortage of opportunities for Alstan and Elsie to bond with animals at the farm. This year there were two little raccoons whose mother was killed. Of course grandpa couldn't leave them to Mother Nature to care for them. All the kids enjoyed playing with them!
Elsie went on their field trip to the zoo on Friday. Sounds like she had a great time....
and look who she found there! Dad had his class field trip on Friday too. For the second part of their trip they also stopped at the zoo, so Elsie and dad were able to spend time together.
It was a rainy day this year for the car show, so it was moved into the school gym. Here Elsie is showing off her car she made with her third grade buddy. She thought she should make an ambulance, since she wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She had wanted to say she was driving to California (the place that Aunt Nette used to live), but she couldn't remember the name and her buddy thought she meant Florida. I say, either place would be a lot of fun!
Alstan and Elsie have gotten into giving each other piggyback rides. I didn't get a picture of Alstan carrying Elsie, but they just kept taking turns carrying each other around the lawn. Maybe we can convince them to start carrying each other when they are tired of walking rather than asking mom and dad.
Alstan's grade level put on a "wax museum" as a way to report on their favorite books. Alstan dressed up as AJ from the "My Weird School" series. Here he is reporting to some kindergarteners about his character.
Looks like mom and dad won't need to do the hard labor for much longer. Well, I guess for a little while, until they realize it is work. They helped load all the bags at the store, but Elsie got tired shortly after mom took the camera inside at home.
