Elsie has been quite set on the idea that she wants a baby sister. It started with her asking her aunties if they would be her sister. She asked the other little girl who goes to the same sitter if she would be her sister friend. Now she has decided that one of her dolls is her baby sister. She takes it with her every where. The other day she told mom "tell dad it's ok to have a baby, look how good big sister takes care of her little sister."
Here's what a full day at the children's museum will do. They are both trying to take a nap on dad's lap at the restaurant after dinner.
Alstan loves the idea of racing, like most other boys who have seen the "Cars" movies. He made sure watching a race was on our summer activities chart. So, here we are at the stock car races in Dubuque.
Elsie spent most of her time climbing on the bleachers by us, but Alstan was quite into the races. I think the races that got his attention the most were the ones with a car painted like Lightning McQueen and one painted like Chick.
After mom and dad's anniversary getaway, we all met up at the Illinois Train Museum. We were able to ride an electric train on a ten mile piece of track, as well as, look at lots of old steam, diesel and electric trains.
Mom and dad celebrated nine years of marriage this summer by spending two nights away in Illinois. Alstan and Elsie spent their time with their Aunt Nette. Alstan actually ask for a nap, which rarely ever happens, so I'm thinking she had them playing pretty hard.
Alstan is making a book about Dusty Crophopper after the fire and rescue movie.
Elsie did the Little Mermaid after she got her legs!
One of Alstan's request for the summer was to eat at a fancy restaurant. Today we all dressed up fancy to go out to eat!
Check out the fossils Alstan and dad found near Fennimore! Dad took Alstan hunting for fossils, so mom took Elsie "hunting" for a new car seat for her babies!
Elsie asked if we could go to the bike path for a ride today. It ended up being a great suggestion! (Notice her pose in the second photo)
Alstan and Elsie have been doing a good job with their chores the last couple of weeks. This is what Alstan bought with his allowance last weekend. Hours of flying fun! Elsie bought a phone: and so it begins!
Mom and dad spent last weekend painting the outside of the house. Alstan and Elsie spent the weekend at their Aunt Carrie's house. Looks like they had a great time, once Carrie bought them new booster seats for the car. (Mom and dad forgot to leave car seats)
They were holding hands for their train ride.
