Looks like Elsie got a patch of daddy's hair. Elsie is at the stage where she drools quite a bit and makes bubbles. When Alstan sees her making bubbles, he likes to try too.
Elsie's dedication was this past Sunday. Here are a couple of photos taken that morning. At Elsie's two month visit on the 13th she weighed 12lb 7oz and measured 22" long.
This year we tried coloring Easter Eggs with Alstan. Mom was worried about a potential mess and dad thought Alstan wouldn't get into it. Thank goodness we were both wrong. Alstan loved it and remained mess free. After dyeing a dozen and half, Alstan still wanted to do more.
Although Elsie has only spent one night in her room since she has been home, mom and dad are still hopeful that Alstan and Elsie will share this room. Today we spent some time all playing together down there. Alstan was showing us all how strong he is.
Here is Alstan trying out his tricycle on the bike path. He doesn't quite have the hang of making a complete cycle with his feet yet, but he really enjoys trying. Since the wheel has a ratchet system, he can still get it to move with only pushing the pedal halfway.
Since we had such a beautiful day on Saturday, dad and Alstan went out biking again. This time Alstan remembered his sunglasses. Mom walked with Elsie while the boys biked.
We decided to get Alstan a tricycle. Here dad and Alstan are busy putting it together. Alstan was trying it out around the house, until mom and dad decided we wanted to preserve our house.
Elsie is showing a lot more expressions in reaction to her environment now. She smiles when smiled at and lifts her eye brows or sticks out her tongue to imitate us. She also rolled to her side for the first time on Wednesday of this week.
Our Alstan is getting to be a big boy! He now sleeps on his own in his toddler bed on a regular basis. In fact, he is doing better at sleeping through the night in his bed than he did in his crib. He went poop in his potty for the first time on Tuesday of this week. Most exciting for him: he is now going on the slide all by himself at the park. (He would have been using the slide by himself a few months earlier, if it wasn't for mom.)
Alstan can now make towers of nine or ten blocks, and is moving on to making straight lines with his blocks. He also likes to line up his cars in a row.
With a head of hair like this, mom can't help but put barrettes and ribbons in it.
Alstan and dad went on their first biking trip for the year this past weekend. Alstan was so excited about it. He was able to watch cars, and more importantly, semi-trucks drive under the bridge that the bike path crosses. He even got a couple of the trucks to honk their horns. That has been all the talk lately!
