Cousins Camping

This tradition is a favorite with the kids every year. The last day was cold and rainy, but the rest of the trip was very nice for camping.

Our last night we had to make an emergency room run. Alstan cut his finger open on a pineapple can and needed a couple of stitches.

In general the trip was a lot of fun!

Happy 4th of July

Mineral Point had their fireworks on the 3rd again this year. 

Now that Alstan is in the High School band, he played in the Marching Band for the parade.

Mom is away for the weekend, but this crew just never quits. Thanks dad, Alstan and Elsie!

After finishing all the insulation, Elsie got her heart set on finishing up the loft. They may not be able to finish, but they are definitely making strides.

Last American Girl Doll Sale

Just to make the weekend a little bit better and more exhausting, we shopped the American Girl Doll Benefit Sale and then had a sleepover at Aunt Nette’s. All the girls seemed very happy with their purchases. They spent the remainder of Saturday and Sunday unpacking and playing with their new items.

Beach Day with Cousins

Aunt Nette and Aunt Carrie met us at Governor Dodge for another great job day at the beach!



We followed that up with a pit fire and a sleepover.

We recently got a paddle board, so a beach day at Governor Dodge with Aunt Nette gave the kids a chance to try it out.

They also also took turns trying out Aunt Nette’s foldable kayak.

We followed that up with a Smore’s pit fire. Just knowing that we won’t have the pit for much longer, means we are trying to get as much use out of it as possible.

Michael Franti Concert

Mom and dad have really gotten into the Michael Franti and Spearhead Band, so when we learned that they were going to be in Wisconsin, we just had to go!

It took place at the Driftless Music Gardens, which was only an hour and a half away. It was a beautiful place to have an outdoor concert. 

Pit Fire Breakfast

Since there were lots of wood scraps left over from the studio construction that needed to be cleaned up, we used ones that were safe to cook over for our breakfast. It started to feel a bit awkward when the roofer showed up unexpectedly to finish the shingles. It was also kinda noisy then, so we ate and went inside pretty quickly.

Alstan and Elsie’s cousins were having a rummage sale/lemonade stand, so the kids all got to hang out together for the day.
